Thailand Tours -The most misrepresented city-Pattaya

Pattaya is perhaps the most misrepresented city in Thailand. It’s famous for being a party city, with go-go bars and the like supposedly taking up every inch of room there. For others to whom that doesn’t appeal, however, please know that the city has plenty more to offer. I'm going to introduce Pattaya where it's worth visiting.

Sanctuary of Truth

This is a perfect example of how Pattaya is misunderstood; if you were to believe all the talk about it, you’d never expect to find one of the most stunning Buddhist temples in the entire country. And yet, there it stands.

The Sanctuary of Truth is a large temple which has been completely crafted out of wood. It looks beautiful enough from a distance, with the ocean directly behind it. To truly appreciate it, however, you need to get up close. Only then can you marvel at the intricacy of the carvings, which are still being created today.

Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden

This place is great for kids and adults alike, no matter your age.

This is one on the list of must visit places for visitors in Pattaya. A few kms out of Pattaya city, it takes one to a totally different surroundings. As you enter the road leading to the village, very well maintained beautiful gardens on both sides greet you.

The first garden is the Orchid garden which is a treat to the eyes. Tens of huge pots with differently shaped faces, intricately made arches, variety of flowers including wide variety of Orchids hanging around are worth watching.

Next you walk through very well organised and well maintained gardens with huge statues of elephants greet you. The best one is the Butterfy garden spread over a big slope, with multi coloured flower beds, and big statues of elephants. The shows include the Thai cultural show with Thai dancers, Thai fighters and Elephants displaying Thai culture.

Beaches

Thought all of Thailand’s beach action was in the south? Think again! Pattaya is home to several beaches, each of which offers something different.

Pattaya Beach is definitely the heart of the action. It’s 3km long, runs parallel to the city center, and just across the road you’ll find more restaurants and bars than you could ever possibly need.

A quieter alternative is Jomtien Beach. It’s only separated from Pattaya Beach by a piece of headland, but has a very different, far more relaxed feel to it. It’s a great place to walk at sunset or, for something completely different, there’s also a waterpark right next to it!

In and all around Pattaya, there are unique activities on offer for all types of travelers: parents and children; intellectuals and – yes – partygoers.

This is a beach destination which has it all. Ignore what you may have heard or read about Pattaya. Take the chance to visit it yourself, and you’ll be greatly rewarded.

Malaysia tours- A city full of Art -Ipoh

Ipoh is located in the middle of Perak, more than 200 kilometers away from Kuala Lumpur, and the city is divided into two parts: old city and new town. In the old city, the buildings are old, the streets are narrow, and the new towns are all modern buildings. But the most famous is the outskirts of the cave temple. Now I will introduce some scenic spots which are often visited by tourists who travel to Ipoh in Malaysia.

Ipoh World at Han Chin Pet Soo

This place is a must to go for everyone who visited Ipoh.

This museum - housed in the original Hakka clan house in town - shows you what life was like for the tin miners from the late nineteenth century onwards.

This museum informative and provided useful information about Hakka clan's migration to Malaysia as tin-miners and how they lived, prospered and suffered during their times.

The exhibits in the museum came to live with the passionate narration and well-orchestrated pictures, murals and artifacts. The restored and well-kept Han Chin Pee Soo Museum which was once the Hakka Tin Miners Club is indeed a must-stop for Ipoh visitors, students and history buffs.

Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple and Zen Gardens

It is a cool, very peaceful, serene and tranquil cave temple with statues dotted with the cave. It is spacious temple.

There is a big beautiful Zen garden with a beautiful lake and a lily pond. The gorgeous garden is spacious and quiet. It is good for strolling or to do a walk around. The walk in the garden will give you so many photo opportunity as well you enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

Outside ponds have turtles and gold fish (carp) which is beyond the cave and tunnel. You can see Buddhist statues in front and even throughout the garden. There are mosquitoes though, so remember to carry the mosquito repellent. This is a cave you must visit.

There are lots of interesting places in Ipoh. If you want to experience it or If you want a Asia tour, you can visit the website:www.bravoasiatours.com. Every tour is customized according to your personal needs.

Baguio – The City of Pines

Few cities are as perfectly summed up by their nicknames as Baguio. It has two: the summer capital of the Philippines, and the City of Pines.

The first is a reference to its climate. It’s located nearly 1,500m above sea level, making it significantly more temperate than other places in the region of Luzon. In the Philippines’ boiling summers, this makes it an ideal place to escape to.

Its second nickname – ‘City of Pines’ – is equally apt. Great care has been taken over its nature; for a sizeable city, Baguio is surprisingly green. Large sections of it have been fenced off and devoted purely to the growth of towering pine trees, which both look aesthetically pleasing, and make the air particularly pleasant to breathe.

Simply walking around, and taking in the cool, fresh air is a worthwhile pursuit while in Baguio. It does still have some worthy specific places to check out, however.

The most famous is Camp John Hay, which forms a sizeable area of the city’s southeast. This former US army R&R facility has been converted into an activity center for locals and foreigners alike. Amongst the many offerings are an 18-hole golf course, several restaurants, ziplining and other high-wire pursuits, and some lovely nature trails.

Elsewhere, Mines View Park – to the city’s northeast – is a fun place to visit (you can try on traditional local dress, and have a photoshoot with some… interesting-looking horses), and also affords stunning views over Baguio’s mountainous surroundings.

Burnham Park – in the heart of the city – is a great place to pass an afternoon, whether strolling around or even rowing on the lake there.

Finally, rainy days are not uncommon in Baguio; that’s the price you pay for such lush, green surroundings! When wet weather strikes, you should head straight to the excellent SM City Mall, which sits atop the main hill in the city center. It has a comprehensive department store, dozens of other shops, and a state-of-the-art cinema to keep you entertained.

Whatever you choose to do, a visit to Baguio comes highly recommended by us here at Bravo Asia Tours. After the hustle and bustle of Manila, in particular, the cool, natural setting of Baguio makes an absolutely perfect next stop.

Thailand tours –the dawn of happiness -Sukhothai

There are many famous tourist cities in Thailand. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, they are popular cities for the trip to Thailand. I'd like to introduce a city with a lot of features in Thailand- Sukhothai. Sukhothai is a small city in Lower Northern Thailand, and the Capital of the Province of this name, most famous for the ruins of the ancient city Sukhothai. The name translates as "the dawn of happiness". There are many popular attractions.

Sukhothai Historical Park

Sukhothai historical park offers a wide range of restored 13th and 14th century Khmer temples. Depending on your level of interest this can easily be a 2-day trip, but can be comfortably accommodated in a single day.

The entrance fee is nominal and there is a tram you can ride getting on and off as you like.Cycling around the park was wonderful and it was very peaceful. The park is quite level with wide paved roads and paths. There are a large number of water features that provide lovely views to the various temples and a relaxing strolls over the many bridges.

The park puts on an outstanding display in November for the Lao Khatrang festival with a stunning pageant in boats and an immense fireworks display.

Si Satchanalai Historical Park

Si Satchanalai isn't as big or impressive as the main historical park at Sukhothai, but that creates a different kind of feeling.Well worth the effort to visit the park totally different to Sukhothai Historical Park but still very beautiful in its own way. Si Satchanalai has towering trees and overgrown ruins (if you make the trek out to some of the smaller ones around the back side of the park).  Other than that, the main ruins are located fairly close to each other. You can walk or rent bicycles at the park gate to take your time to explore the sites on offer. Take time to sit be the lake and imagine what life was back centuries ago.

Wat Si Chum

The temple is located outside the main Sukhothai Historical Park and has a huge Buddha Statue in a relatively small hall with high walls and a narrow door. The door is so narrow that the entire statue is not visible from outside. The walls of the temple are The temple is in better shape than most other temples in the area and the high walls are still standing. The roof however is gone.

The temple is set amidst expansive manicured gardens and has consists of a main building and some smaller shrines at the sides. Being outside the main park, there is a separate entrance fee for the temple. An artist's reconstruction of the temple is also shown near the entrance.

Worth a visit if you are in Sukhothai.

Of course, there are many tourist attractions. It takes you personally to travel here to appreciate their features. If you want customize a Sukhothai or Thailand tour, we can help you. Please consult Bravo Asia Tours. We will customize a Thailand tour according your needs.

Manila – the Pearl of the Orient

Lots of big cities are described as being ‘bustling’. Well, until you’ve spent time in Manila, you don’t know the meaning of the word! The Metro Manila area is home to over 24million people, and it is widely considered as the most densely populated city in the world.

Whether you find that appealing or not is, of course, down to your own personal tastes. Some may feel overwhelmed by so much activity, but many other travelers will thrill in the sheer scale and excitement of it all.

To help you get a better idea of where you’d like to visit, we’ve identified three of the city’s must-see areas for tourists.

1)      Intramuros

This is perhaps the most popular area of the city with tourists, and it’s easy to see why.

It’s often referred to as ‘Old Manila’, due to its brilliantly-maintained, centuries-old colonial architecture, which dominates the entire area. Fascinating churches, antique shops, manor houses, art galleries and more are all to be found in this particularly cultural area.

Best of all, you can tour the area in time-honored tradition, with a horse and carriage!

2)      Makati

Makati is probably the most up-market area in all of Metro Manila, and is effectively the financial center of the entire country. Tourists to the area will find shopping, restaurants and hotels of a quality that rivals anywhere else in Southeast Asia.

If you’re in desperate need of some retail therapy, head straight to this high-rise, modern area.

3)      Ermita

Of all the areas in Manila, this one has the highest concentration of touristic sights.

Within fairly close proximity to each other, you’ll find the Manila Ocean Park (with its excellent underwater walkway), the informative National Museum of the Philippines, the architectural marvel that is the Manila Central Post Office, and the culturally significant Rizal Park.

Trust us; you’ll want to earmark an entire day of your stay in Manila, just to explore Ermita!

If you want customize a Manila or Philippines tour, we can help you. Please consult Bravo Asia Tours. We will customize a Philippines tour according your needs.

Vietnam tours-Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam's bustling largest city sets the cultural and economic pace for the country. The former Saigon boasts charming French colonial architecture and wide boulevards, usually thronged and choked with traffic. Taxis are an option for seeing the sprawling city. The War Remnants Museum shows the Vietnam War through Vietnamese eyes. The Ho Chi Minh City is worth in visiting, when you want to travel to Vietnam.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Cu Chi Tunnels is a must see when in Vietnam. In history classes you may have learned about the guerrilla tactics taken by the VietCong; but here you see how innovative and sophisticated their tactics really were.  There are good opportunities for photos and to go through one tunnel yourself. It was only about 1.5 hrs from HCM city, so it was easy to do a half day tour and feel like you saw everything important.

War Remnants Museum

This graphically told the history of the war. Not always pleasant, thought provoking and taken from the Vietnamese perspective.  They serve as a grim reminder of what Vietnam went through in the 70's. The Vietnam War was very well-documented and you'll definitely learn a lot about the war when you visit this museum. It didn't hold back. The museum was well set out and full explanations were given as you went round. A good display of USA tanks and helicopters were near the entrance.

Saigon Opera House

The theatre is a small, French colonial styled theatre. Not exceptional in an architectural sense. The auditorium is fairly small so even the cheaper priced seats get a decent view. There are a few seats that would be slightly restricted views but generally I think everyone would be able to see most of the stage.

However the 60 minute show "Teh Dar" was beautiful. Breath-taking acrobats, beautiful voices and an immense joy for performing. Very professional and unique. Definitely worth both the time and the money.

Vietnam has lots of scenic spots not just these. If you want to experience the unique feeling, go Ho Chi Minh City. If you want customize a Vietnam tour, we can help you. Please consult Bravo Asia Tours. We will customize a Vietnam tour according your needs.

Thailand Tours-Relax In Hua Hin

Huahin, a famous summer resort on the west coast of Thailand. As we all know, Bangkok sits roughly in the middle of the enormous bay to the Gulf of Thailand’s north. To the east, around the bay, is Pattaya. To the west lies Hua Hin.

Both have excellent beaches, but the actual towns are very different. Hua Hin is a much, much quieter place. Its nightlife is almost non-existent and, although it’s not exactly a ‘hidden gem’, it’s still managed to retain something of a charming, small-town feel.

It’s also long been viewed by Thais as a luxury destination. This is partly thanks to its historical links to the royal family, with a former king having set up a palace there, which subsequently served as a peaceful getaway for the royals from bustling Bangkok. In the years since, it’s become popular for wealthier Bangkok residents to follow suit, often heading out to Hua Hin for a weekend away.

Getting to Hua Hin is a simple task. It’s only around 200km south of Bangkok, and you can reach it easily via bus or train (Hua Hin’s wooden train station is absolutely gorgeous), with departures leaving frequently each day.

What to do

Relax on the beach!

Well, what else did you expect us to suggest?! Hua Hin Beach is around 3km in length, large enough that it rarely gets overcrowded. The sand is pleasantly light, there are plenty of deckchairs on which you can lounge for a small fee, and it’s easy to reach from anywhere in the town. Within minutes of lying down here, any stress you might have built up from the noise and activity of Bangkok will simply drift away.

KlaiKangwon Palace

The palace which King Rama VII had built in 1929 remains in place, and actually still serves as a residence for the royal family for one or two months each year. When the royals aren’t there, the palace is opened to visitors for a tiny entrance fee. It’s a lovely, summery place (its name means ‘Far From Worries’ Palace), with an excellent and large ornamental garden which you can also stroll around.

KhaoTakaib

As with most Thai towns and cities, natural delights are never far away from Hua Hin. Rent a motorbike, or hire a private tour guide, and head straight for the hill of KhaoTakaib, which is only around 8km away from the center. The temple of Wat KhaoTakaib sits atop the hill, offering great views of the surrounding area, which are particularly nice at sunset. Aside from the resident monks, the temple is also home to some (generally) friendly monkeys!

Night Market

Again, just because you might not have time to visit Thailand’s south, doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on the country’s celebrated seafood. There are seafood restaurants all over Hua Hin, particularly near to the beach. For those on a budget, or who simply want to experience a more authentic method of eating, the night market is also highly recommended.

Located right in the heart of the town, the night market gets reasonably busy each evening, but never becomes overwhelming. There are restaurants on either side of this walking street, or a wide selection of food carts along the street itself. Aside from the food, the night market also grants a great opportunity for stocking up on souvenirs, or presents for your friends and family back home.

If you want to travel to Hua Hin in Thailand, we can help you. Please consult us in Bravo Asia Tours.

Palawan’s Stunning Subterranean Sight – The Underground River

It’s no secret that Palawan – known as the Philippines’ ‘final frontier’ – is home to some pretty special scenery. In fact, while you’re traveling around it – whether by the coast or exploring the interior – it can seem as if there are marvels everywhere you look. Perhaps most spectacular of all, however, is the Subterranean River National Park.

This river runs for over eight kilometers, and all of it is underground. Think about how big that is, for a moment; it’s incredible! Its place as one of the planet’s greatest wonders was certified when it was named a UNESCO World Heritage site, and it’s believed to be one of the longest underground rivers in the whole world (some even claim it to be the longest). There are large parts of the network that haven’t even been explored yet, simply because it’s too dangerous.

And the best thing of all? You can go there!

Getting to the Subterranean River National Park is a piece of cake. The biggest nearby settlement is Puerto Princesa, so we’d recommend making that your launching point. There are plenty of tour agencies there, so pop along to one of those, hand over a few pesos, and they’ll sort everything out for you (including the permit you need to visit).

After taking a minibus from Puerto Princesa, you’ll arrive at the small village of Sabang. There, you’ll board your boat, and enjoy a scenic 20 minute journey across the water (look out for the monkeys on the way!), before you reach the entrance to the river. Most tours only take in the first half or so of the river, but it’s possibly to arrange a visit that encompasses the whole thing.

At long last you’ll reach the entrance, and head into the darkness. That’s when the magic truly begins. You’ll sail through vast caverns and pass by fascinating limestone formations, all the time accompanied by the sounds of the bats which roost above.

Visiting the Subterranean River National Park is an otherworldly experience, and one that simply must be undertaken by any visitor to Palawan.

If you want to travel to Palawan, we can help you. Please consult us in Bravo Asia Tours.

Singapore’s Gorgeous National Gallery

There are many, many things to do on a visit to Singapore; perhaps too many! Whatever else you decide to do, however, the National Gallery Singapore absolutely must be on your itinerary.

The National Gallery Singapore is located right in the downtown heart of the city. This is one of those examples of an art gallery where the building is almost as impressive as the works it contains. It actually consists of two of Singapore’s most celebrated former landmarks: the City Hall and Supreme Court buildings. Both have been converted into galleries, and are now connected together by a spectacular, glass atrium. At times it’s hard to even concentrate on the artworks, because your eye is drawn to the majestic columns of the City Hall, or the dark, wooden panels of the Supreme Court’s courtrooms.

That’s not to say, of course, that the artworks themselves aren’t utterly wonderful. The permanent exhibitions go through the modern history of not only Singapore, but the entirety of Southeast Asia. Follow the artworks, and the informative signs next to them, through the decades and centuries, and you’ll learn as much about the region’s past as you would at the greatest dedicated history museums.

Another permanent exhibition focuses squarely on Singapore, and it’s also fascinating to see the development of the Little Red Dot visualized in such wonderful, skillful pieces. In addition, there are rotating visiting exhibitions which change every few months. These ensure that, however many times you come back to Singapore (and you’ll definitely want to keep coming back, believe us!), there will always be something fresh waiting for you there.

Getting to the National Gallery Singapore couldn’t be easier. Simply take the MRT to the City Hall station, and follow the artistic, clearly-marked path all the way there.

If you want to travel to Singapore, we can help you. Please consult us in Bravo Asia Tours.
